Description

This is a new position for Qmetis and may be based in the New York, NY area though there is latitude on location. The position is designed to help drive and deliver the company’s short-term and long-term business, financial and brand objectives. This person would report to the President and COO and founder of Qmetis.

The Director, Business Development, will be primarily responsible for selling Qmetis’ suite of evidence-based clinical decision-support tools directly to hospitals and hospital systems. He or she will help finalize the firm’s strategy, pricing and targets in selling the adult and pediatric TBI products, concussion and stroke modules, and then execute the strategy. In 2025 the Company intends to roll-out its newest software modules, for maternal health and mortality, and the Director of National Sales can play a key role in the development and launch.

As Qmetis’ product line expands, this person will capitalize on his or her contacts and previous successes to sell these new solutions to current clients and new prospects. This person will be a key communicator and “Qmetis brand manager” to hospital executives, administrators, physicians, nurses, hospital networks and others.

The Director, National Sales will work closely with Qmetis’ executive leadership to help identify the most critical strategic issues and opportunities (including new product ideas) for the company and help develop clear recommendations for addressing and resolving each one. This person will be a key part of the still small senior management team in this entrepreneurial environment.

This person will also help identify, adopt and deploy “best practices” in the areas of digital sales and marketing as appropriate to Qmetis’ and its customers’ needs. Markets move quickly and this person will need to help Qmetis leverage technology and the Internet to enhance sales, communications and branding efforts.

While focusing on building Qmetis’ direct-to-hospital sales channel, the Director, Business Development may also assist the Chief External Affairs in the Government Affairs sales efforts and lobbying to targeted state governments. Qmetis will expand into Europe in 2025 and this person may assist in business development in a handful of western European countries now under consideration for a targeted sales effort, if of interest.

  • Strategic insights and recommendations.

ABOUT QMETIS, INC.

Qmetis is an entrepreneurial medical informatics company that builds and sells clinical decision-making tools to state governments, hospitals and hospital systems. Qmetis’ products are quality assessment/quality assurance tools that deliver clinically researched evidence-based medicine treatment guidelines over the Internet, or integrated into a hospital’s EMR solution, directly to doctors and nurses in a hospital emergency department, or ICU in real-time. In addition to quality assessment and quality assurance, Qmetis provides hospitals with

*Real-Time Staff Education

*Performance Improvement

*Reduced Variance in Care

*Reduced Average Length of Stay

*Assistance with Recertifications

Qmetis’ first product built was for severe adult traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), followed by its pediatric TBI product and most recently a concussion product, ConcussionQx, launched in early 2022.  All of Qmetis’ products are branded “Qx” -TbiQx, StrokeQx, SpineQx. The company’s ConcussionQx product serves multiple end-users – hospital emergency departments, (EDs), clinics, schools, athletic trainers, and free-standing emergency departments. In order to properly serve these different users, Qmetis has divided its ConcussionQx tool into two tools – CQx, and CQx Sport for sports-related concussion care.

Formed in 2012, Qmetis’ initial growth strategy was to target state government contracts.  Those state governments purchase the Qmetis solution and Qmetis then provides it free-of-charge to top trauma hospitals in those states for implementation.  As compliance with evidence-based guidelines increases, outcomes improve, resulting in less long-term care. Less long-term care means that state governments will have significant savings in their own healthcare budgets and Medicaid programs. Additionally, if guidelines are followed, costs for hospitals in the acute care phase can be reduced dramatically.

The Company has won state appropriations now from Michigan, North Carolina and South Carolina and hopes to add additional state contracts in 2025 through its state lobbying efforts. Those lobbying efforts are underway now. The Company is also in discussion with a well-regarded business development group out of Amsterdam and may launch its international efforts in the first quarter 2025.

In addition to its state government business Qmetis is now developing this new distribution channel - sales direct to hospitals – in addition to its municipal, state government approach. And so Qmetis is now in the process of recruiting a Director, National Salesperson to lead this direct-to-hospitals effort alongside the company’s founders. Qmetis’ expanding suite of products, its improving technology based on user feedback and its open-architecture software platform, testimonials from current user hospitals, and data on effectiveness, makes this a good moment to open this revenue stream as part of its growth strategy.

Qmetis’s growth strategy includes:

  • Selling directly to hospitals and hospital groups in the U.S.
  • Expanding the number of U.S. states in which we operate.
  • Increasing the number of Level 1 and 2 trauma centers in states currently using our solution.
  • Expanding internationally.

Qmetis is an attractive opportunity because:

  • There is a clear problem and need to be addressed and a known and proven solution.
  • The product is built, tested and proven to increase compliance with best practices.
  • The product is proven to save states significant amounts of money.
  • Business development efforts are underway in multiple states and countries.
  • The Company’s value proposition is attractive to hospitals.
